Behind the waterfall, you find yourself in a damp and dank cavern. The rock
walls are smooth, and bathed in shadows, which deepen at the rear of the

You inhale deeply.
Shadirion takes a few steps and soars 10 feet into the air!
You stand up slowly.

You smile over at you.

[Waterfall.]
The narrow muddy path ends at the edge of a deep blue pool. Overhead, the
waters of the forest stream gush out into the frothing river. A gentler cascade
trickles down the rock face of the chasm, creating a double waterfall. The
hardened mud to one side of the path holds the impressions and footsteps
of a struggle that occurred here, and a few scattered scales that were dislodged
during the battle are becoming petrified into the surroundings by the deposits
from the mist of the double waterfall. A rock shelf rests a few feet above
the pool, housing an inviting combination of moss and clover. A beautiful
flowing waterfall, a deep blue pool, and a soft mossy patch of clover are

[Ravine.]
A narrow strip of mud separates the cliff face from the churning waters at
the bottom of the falls. A misty spray soaks this path that terminates at
a deep blue pool to the south. Continuing north, the path disappears into
a muddy bog. A rotting hemp rope and a muddy path to the bog are here.

Emerging from the dark grove, the trail ends abruptly. The stream tumbles
over a sheer cliff and into the ravine below as it sweeps through from the
northeast, its waters raging against the chasm walls. A rope dangles from
the cliff edge.

[Caersech Forest.]
An ancient oak tree towers above the forest floor, covering the surrounding
landscape beneath its branches. The natural buzz of the recovering forest
is barely audible above the rush of the rapidly moving river. Small grasses
and wildflowers poke through the leaf-covered ground. An oak tree and a broken
and cracked steelwood tree are here.

The western bank is steep and rocky. In some places, it has collapsed, exposing the immense roots of the oaks nearest the stream. The stream widens and its waters become deeper. The gentle flow has become a strong current. A stone bridge is here.

[Hope's Path.]
A small stream runs noisily under the two bridges spanning the ravine. A number
of the brunt oaks still stand about, memorials to the forest this once was.
A number of small saplings dot the ground between the black trunks. Between
the stream bank and oaks, a small path of four-leaf-clover shaped stones
weave a windy path through the forest. A stone bridge, a wooden bridge, a
clump of wildgrass, and a small winding stone path are here.

The path ends here as it comes upon the steep banks of a forest stream. A
wooden bridge, in surprisingly good repair, crosses the stream. The skeletal
remains of some fish litter the stream bank and nosing about you notice some

[Forest path.]
The path slopes down to the south here as it leads away from the hill. The
evergreens subside as the ground becomes moist due to the proximity of the
stream. The undergrowth is quite thick here, and the music of the stream
begins to pervade your senses. A charming embankment is here.

The path branches again, finally leading away from the hill. Your feet and
legs are getting damp as the wet ferns brush against your legs. The trees
open up slightly here and you think it would be a nice place to rest, if

to become more deciduous as you go south. Ferns brush at your feet as you
walk. Tangles of blackberries looking quite good, grow on the hill. Dare

You step over a small rivulet of water running down rom the hill here. The
stream seems to be reviving, and even small insects flitter about, but quickly
scurry away. The forest here is eerily still, and you hope this path is going

The breeze is coming from the north, yet a feeling of dread comes from the
south, down the loathsome hill, along a series of rock carved steps. The
forest is unnaturally quiet, as you peer up to the top of the hill. Some
steps leading up are here.

[Forest Path.]
The path forks to the northwest and northeast. You spot the tracks of a deer,
and looking around, notice the antler-scraped bark of a nearby tree. The
healthy smell of the forest surrounds you, but the hill to the southwest
keeps you from enjoying it.

The trees give way to lush grasses and wildflowers to the north, northeast
and east. The ground is irregular and in places, rather bumpy. The cause
of the irregularity is unseen. A doe and her fawn leap from their grassy

A few lone fir trees tower above you here on the open plains. Your eyes catch
a glint of metal and looking closer you realize it is a moss covered sword
held in a skeletal hand. You've found an ancient battlefield. Huge gashes
cover the forest floor, splintered and uprooted fir trees sway in the wind.
A freshly uncovered hole sits in the center of the firs, mounds of dirt piled
high on either side. A light branch, a broken fir tree, a delicate silver
fir tree, and a hole are here.

Standing before you is a huge wall of thorny roots. They have doubled back
upon themselves so many times that it is impossible to see anything behind
them. A strange, slightly familiar scent wafts through here. The encroaching
flora makes this spot slightly claustrophobic. A small hole, an opening,

held in a skeletal hand. You've found an ancient battlefield. Huge gashes
cover the forest floor, splintered and uprooted fir trees sway in the wind.
A freshly uncovered hole sits in the center of the firs, mounds of dirt piled
high on either side. A light branch, a broken fir tree, a delicate silver
fir tree, and a hole are here.

Standing before you is a huge wall of thorny roots. They have doubled back
upon themselves so many times that it is impossible to see anything behind
them. A strange, slightly familiar scent wafts through here. The encroaching
flora makes this spot slightly claustrophobic. A small hole, an opening,
and a cave opening are here.

Opening up before you is a huge, cavernous room. The walls are hewn from
the earth and stone; huge, gnarled tree roots snake their way from top to
bottom, looking as if they could reach out and grab you. The floor has been
packed down so thoroughly that it nearly shines; it seems some very heavy
footsteps have traveled across this floor. A Cave opening is here.

Here, in the center of the massive lair, is Norius'a's hoard. The number
of gems here is astounding; they seem to glow in the dim torchlight. Massive
tree roots have been trained into a complex, web-like network overhead. Tiny
round pillows in many brilliant colors are placed in various spots all around
the room, evidently for the comfort of visiting Secians. This area is illuminated.

Lilyth paces as she gazes at the ceiling.

Hanging roots sway back and forth violently, disturbed by forces above you. The sound is absorbed by the feet of the earthern ceiling, but a faint buzz can be heard in the back of your mind.
You nod slowly and frown.
Lilyth furrows her brow and shakes her head.
Pluck says, "this not good at all"
You growl quietly while watching the ceiling.
Pluck asks Serendipity, "ya been gettin pains?"
Your body continues its dull ache, seemingly coming from your very bones.

Thoughts drifts through your mind, recalling what you know of the pains. Usually, most dracos take six to ten SPURIAN days to finally metamorphose. The pain throbs, not as sharp as before, but present.

The sloping passage constricts as you trek southward. Movement causes dirt
to drift from the low ceiling. The bone rings narrow, and there are curious
bumps in the floor of the cave. There is little doubt that you are traveling
the length of the skeletal beast's tail. A short bronze dagger, a short wooden
stick, and a rope noose are here.

A passage offers entry in and out of the great cavern. The ceiling and floor
slope downward toward the south. The way becomes narrower as you pass through
ring-shaped shards that must be the remains of a giant beast. Judging by
the charred condition of much of the skeleton, it would appear that it met
death through fiery combat.

The stone walls have been blackened and rippled where they were melted by
fierce heat. The charred bone planks in some places are embedded deep within
solid stone. The odd layout of the caves begins to make you feel that were
the caves alive, you would be in the belly of a great beast and had gained
entry through its once-powerful jaws.

The narrower cave gives way to a huge cavern. The ceiling is lost to view
in the dark shadows, and the far wall is barely visible. The yellow planks
are wider and longer, but here dark streaks mar the smooth texture. A closer
look at the shoring reveals that what appeared to be a pattern of dark stains
is the blackened evidence of fire, and that the planks are made of bone.

The cave expands in width and height. Shoring up the walls are planks of the
same color and texture as the rocks lining the entrance. Down the center
of the ceiling runs a knobby strip of stones, from which the planks curve
to the floor.

Oddly shaped yellow rocks line the entrance to the cave. Sharp and jagged,
they jut from the cave floor, forming a semi-circle. Protruding from the
rather low ceiling of the cave are more rocks in a matching formation. The
effect is that of stalagmites and stalactites, striving to meet. The floor
of the cave is littered with rock fragments, making passage slow and difficult.

Behind the waterfall, you find yourself in a damp and dank cavern. The rock
walls are smooth, and bathed in shadows, which deepen at the rear of the

On his wings are delicate, intricate golden swirls that shimmer with the slightest reflection of light.
He has no apparent injuries, but looks pale.

though looking a bit more confident he still glances around with a bit of anticipation. His wing twitches momentarily with the outburst of a nearby argument. The beginings of a jagged scar are barely seen at his collar.

You lie down again slowly.

You inhale deeply and holds you tightly.
Shadirion thinks to you, "I worried when I nearly lost you"

You furrow your brow at Shadirion.

Serendipity says to Shadirion, "ye did just fine wee one"
Shadirion thinks to you, "I couldn't take the pains fast enough"

The weight of your newly formed wings feel awkward on your back, as does the length of your fingers. But, at the same time, your soul seems joined by a new presence.
You grimace and rolls on her side in slight discomfort.

You grin stupidly.

You blink and hold your head.

You glance up at the ceiling.
Serendipity says, "I didn't seem to grow so tall either."

Your gold scales begin to gleam as you extends your wings to their fullest.

A look of awe washes over you as you stare wide-eyed at your gleaming golden form!

You beam and glance down at you.
Serendipity asks Shadirion, "what do you think now?"
Shadirion fans his wings at you making the golden swirls sparkle.
You rumble deeply.

The look of awe fades from your face.
You chuckle.
Shadirion thinks to you, "no wyverns yet"
Shadirion squints at you.
You glance down at you.
Shadirion thinks to you, "your fingers..."
Serendipity says, "perhap they don't like gold ones"
Shadirion is looking at you.
You glance down at her fingers.
Shadirion is now happy.
You stretch her arms out her gleaming claws sparkling on their own.
You chuckle.
Shadirion thinks to you, "when does the jeweller return?"
You kneel and nuzzle shad gently.
You raise an eyebrow.
Serendipity says, "ah"
Shadirion flutters softly.
You frown and looks at her pack.
Shadirion glances at the shimmering green and yellow gourd.
Shadirion blushes.
You chuckle.
Shadirion thinks to you, "I forgot I had this in the excitement"
Serendipity says, "and I had a turnip somewhere"
Shadirion chuckles.
You remove the bright green turnip from your brown velvet-lined leather greatcoat.
Shadirion chuckles.
Serendipity says, "of course not sure when I was suppose to use it"
Shadirion thinks to you, "what a pair we make"
You chuckle and nuzzle Shadirion lovingly.

Serendipity says to Shadirion, "ye did most excellently my Bond"
Shadirion thinks to you, "you did pretty good too"
You stretch her wings to their full extent.
